4. Death Stranding
The Death Stranding game, thanks to its creator Hideo Kojima, has already become a real phenomenon. The game is all about isolation and loneliness, two feelings that humankind experiences in the era of Internet addiction. Sounds familiar, isn't it?
Hideo Kojima is a true master of intrigue, and with each new gameplay video, he only gives you more questions about the game. In the modern age, when AAA games are similar to each other like two drops of water, the unique setting and the atmosphere of mystery around Death Stranding makes us at least wait for the project with interest and even think about it as a main nominee for the Best Game of 2019. Luckily, it is said that Death Stranding has entered the final stage of its development.
The release date of Death Stranding is November 2019. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
5. Shenmue 3
Shenmue 3 is an adventure game developed by the Japanese studios YS Net and Neilo, in collaboration with Shibuya Productions. The developers promise to preserve the spirit of the first two parts, implement modern graphics of Unreal Engine 4, and make the combat system a more aggressive and dynamic one.
Released in late 1999, the original Shenmue was a real "boom!" in the gaming industry. A mixture of several genres within the framework of one project created an unprecedented level of graphics performance and cinematography.
Yu Suzuki's creation was even listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most expensive game (with a budget of about $ 47 million) at the time of release.
Unfortunately, the project was too far ahead of its time, and the low popularity of the Sega Dreamcast console didn't work well for Shenmue. As a result, the game did not pay off, and the second one released in 2001 completely repeated the fate of its predecessor. The subsequent release on the Xbox also did not help.
Since the plot of the second part was cut short, the release of Shenmue 3 was simply necessary. However, low sales of previous games forced SEGA to put the project on the shelf.
Having gone through all possible circles of production hell, the project was finally announced in the framework of E3 2015.
Part of the development funds was gained through Kickstarter. Further financing will be provided with the assistance of Sony.
Shenmue 3 is coming out in November 2019. The game is expected on PS4 and PC.
